I recently found out that the copyright on this book expired in 2001. Secondly, I found a site that had all the text on it. Since I’ve liked this book since I was a child, I decided to reformat it and share it on my site. You can find it here: http://porg.es/IslandOneself.php.

An Island To Oneself (subtitled The Story of Six Years on a Desert Island) is—as you may have guessed—the story of a man (Tom Neale, who is, incidentally, a New Zealander) who lives for 6 years on a deserted island in the middle of the Pacific. I’ve taken the original text and cleaned it up a bit for easy viewing… although IE, as usual, has problems with some of the Unicode.
