Rhythmbox Plugin: Stop after current track

code 7 April 2009 | 12 Comments

I have wanted this for a while, and my brother linking me to this post was the last straw.

So here is a very quick and simple plugin; it simply puts a button on the toolbar that you can click when you want to stop playback after the current song. I based the toolbar button code on Alexandre Rosenfeld’s lastfm-queue plugin, since I had no idea where to start with that

Download it here, and put it into ~/.gnome2/rhythmbox/plugins/stop_after_song/. Activate it in Rhythmbox’s plugin dialog.

    I love you.

It’s hard to say good bye, but now Rhythmbox is perfect. So i have to say good bye to Banshee, that was a good friend for a long time.

how do you set it permanently instead of having to click it everytime u choose to hear a song?

There was a small player (VUPlayer) I used in Windows specifically for this feature.

I hate leaving with music stopped. I like for it to fade out as I leave. So what I do is just leave it playing and as I leave the room it creates the fade. It greatly improves the quality of your life.

I am elated that you made this and posted for us the public. You are great

Very nice! I’ve been looking for this. Is there a way to make it work in version 0.13.3
